Leaders from Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties & City of Detroit officials are meeting to compare notes on the region's future as part of the annual Tri-County Summit. Paul Gielegham is the Chairman of the Macomb County Board of Commissioners. He’ll let us know what’s been achieved so far.
Grosse Point-native mystery writer Megan Abbott will join us to talk about her new novel Bury Me Deep, a jazz-age tale of murder and mayhem.Turin, Italy 15-20 years ago faces challenges similar to present-day Detroit. We’ll speak with former mayor of Turin, Valentino Castellani about the steps they took to revive the city.
The S.S. Columbia, known to many as the “Boblo boat,” cruised the Detroit River for 89 years. An effort is underway to restore the ship back to operational use. Called the S.S. Columbia Project, organizers hold their first fundraiser tomorrow. Coordinator Lori Feret and President of the S.S. Columbia Richard Anderson tell us a little more.
