WDET Volunteer Opportunities

One of many ways you can support Detroit Public Radio is by volunteering your time during one of the station's many fundraisers and events. WDET Membership Volunteer

The Membership Department is seeking individuals to help with general office support, monthly and pre- and post-fundraiser duties. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Monthly Mailings
  • "Thank You" Gift Packagers
  • Basic Clerical Support

WDET Volunteer Committee
The volunteer committee seeks individuals who are creative, enthusiastic, fun AND, most importantly, genuinely committed to helping WDET. Interested individuals would volunteer their time and talents while working within a group to develop plans, solutions and programs that would increase volunteerism, alternative fundraising and involvement at WDET. Candidates should be able to meet the following criteria to be eligible:
  • Be able to work with others
  • Be detail-oriented
  • Be available to attend monthly meetings
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have transportation

Volunteer Newsletter
The volunteer committee seeks volunteers to work in various capacities on the volunteer newsletter. Our goal is to have a newsletter for the volunteers written by the volunteers. Candidates will assist the editor and WDET's assistant membership manager with a variety of projects, including newsletter production (writing, editing and layout). The Volunteer Committee will meet on the following days:

WDET Calling Commandos
WDET still seeks individuals who have a strong passion for Detroit Public Radio to conduct outgoing telephone calls to expired donors and re-introduce them to the many benefits of a WDET membership. Training (for all newcomers) will be provided at each session. The Calling Commandos will meet on the following days:
